Job Description:
A company in the Technology and Innovation sector is seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) to fill a temporary Head of Finance role. The ideal candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee financial operations, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and governance frameworks. This is a critical role within the executive team, driving financial sustainability and supporting innovation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the finance department, ensuring sound financial systems, processes, and controls
Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process aligned to strategic objectives
Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process aligned to strategic objectives
Prepare and present consolidated budgets to EXCO and the Board
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including management accounts and AFS
Manage cash flow forecasting and financial risk registers
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including PFMA and National Treasury guidelines
Lead the external audit process and engage key stakeholders
Manage group accounting, including consolidations and investment valuations
Drive operational efficiency across finance processes and systems
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals
Minimum Requirements
• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
• 8–10 years’ post-articles experience in financial management and auditing
• 5–8 years’ experience in group accounting (consolidations and equity accounting)
• Strong experience in investment valuations and impairments
• At least 5 years in a senior management role
• Experience managing external audits and working within regulated environments (PFMA advantageous)
